Compliments flying in for our Dŵr Cymru Welsh Water Upstream Losses Team!

Date Posted: 08.04.2024

“It was great to be able to share with you our concerns regarding potential road works and to be able to work with you and your team to ensure minimal disruption to those travelling to the airport”

Well done to the Dŵr Cymru Welsh Water Upstream Losses Team, who have received a big thank you from Cardiff Airport after working tirelessly to complete a complex trunk main repair.

The team recently worked in collaboration with Cardiff Airport to complete the challenging repair on Port Road West, a major road leading to the airport, to ensure 13,000 rugby fans made it to the Six Nations Wales v France game in Cardiff!

Cardiff Airport’s Director of Planning and Development, Mark Bailey, said:

“Thanks for your support and help in the run-up and over the weekend of the Wales v France Six Nations. We had approx. 30 additional flights on both Saturday and Monday. It was great to be able to share with you our concerns regarding potential road works and to be able to work with you and your team to ensure minimal disruption to those travelling to the airport.”

Whilst sadly there was no celebration for Wales fans, it was an absolute win for the Upstream Losses Team!
