Glenboi Primary School Outdoor Learning Area

As part of the delivery of the Glenboi Flood Alleviation Project we have delivered on behalf of Rhondda Cynon Taf County Borough Council, we committed to seeking opportunities to add value and give back to the local community.

In partnership with Glenboi Primary, not only did we facilitate school visits to our site, but also helped improve the outdoor learning facilities at the school. The existing outdoor classrooms and play area were already in place, however fundraising had not yet raised the money necessary to complete the access footpaths within the woodland.

Therefore, our project team sprang into action and offered their assistance to complete this project with the school. Our civil engineering teams were deployed and worked with the school to finalise a plan, resulting in the facilities being accessible for the pupils, all year round.

On completion of the project, we were absolutely overcome with joy when the school announced an official grand opening! The pupils had prepared songs, poems and presentations to mark the event, together with a special thank you cake which was delicious!

The photos speak for themselves with the pupils let loose to enjoy the area and make use of the great weather we had on the day.

Our teams loved working with the school to complete this much needed project which we hope will bring many years of outdoor play and learning!
