To support our expansion, we have an opportunity within our South Wales Plant Operations in the following role:

  • Yard Supervisor

We rely on our Yard Supervisors to manage a busy yard and work alongside our Yard Operators, Drivers and Plant Operators to make sure that the yard is properly maintained and operates safely and efficiently. Working at our Pontyclun Head Office, you’ll be part of a team where everyone is putting the effort in to offer excellent customer service and to get the job done safely.

 

 Responsibilities

  • Manage day-to-day operations in the yard on behalf of the Plant Operations Team
  • Ensure that the Yard Team, work in line with company health and safety policies and procedures
  • Support with loading and unloading our vehicles
  • Be responsible for goods/plant inwards/outwards and safe movements within the yard
  • Ensuring safe and correct storage of plant/equipment
  • Maintaining excellent standards of cleanliness and tidiness within the yard and depot
  • Ensuring adherence with designated pedestrian and vehicle routes
  • Affirm compliance of all yard users/visitors with PPE requirements
  • Look after stock, noting any faulty/damaged items to the Plant Operations Team
  • Washing and cleaning of incoming plant/equipment in preparation for dispatch

What Skills & qualifications do we require?

  • Full clean UK driving licence.
  • Familiar with plant and its operations
  • Forklift licence
  • Previous experience in a similar role, hire business or builders’ merchants
  • Good communication skills
  • Knowledge of basic H&S standards
  • Ambition to progress your career through our professional development programme
